From our lake to yours.
One wish for a beautiful blanket with our lake on it became something we wanted to share with everyone who has a lake they love.
A life lived from lake to lake
For much of my life, home was never just one place. It was the next family lake, the next trail through the woods, the next shoreline where the car was finally unpacked and everyone could exhale. I fell in love with the rituals around the water: coffee before the first cast, bare feet on sun-warmed boards, the hum of a boat heading home, and dinners that ran late because nobody wanted to leave the sunset.
Today my wife and I live at the lake full time. I still hike, fish, and get out on the boat whenever I can, but some of my favorite moments are the quiet ones: sitting on the dock with the people I love, watching the light move across the water. Our two dogs are part of our lake life, too, and they love our blankets every bit as much as we do.
One blanket became LakeBlankets
One day my wife said, “I wish we had a blanket with our lake on it. A really nice one.” So we made one. We loved how it brought our lake into everyday life, and before long our friends and neighbors wanted one, too—not only for our lake, but for other lakes they loved. That was when we realized the feeling went far beyond our own shoreline. LakeBlankets was born.
The lake stays with us all year
When winter comes, we are still drawn to the lake. After a full day of adventure on the frozen lake, we come in from the cold, warm up in front of the wood-burning stove, and reach for our blankets. They bring back the bright days of summer: those bare feet on the dock, the boat ride home, the evenings nobody wanted to end.
