FAQ

Product And Design

What is a LakeBlankets blanket?

A LakeBlankets blanket is a custom lake-specific throw designed around a lake's shoreline, local identity, and gift use case. Each design is intended for a specific lake or submarket, not a generic "any lake" template.

What is the difference between woven and sherpa/fleece blankets?

Woven blankets are the premium anchor product. They use woven textile texture, limited colors, simplified shorelines, and larger typography. Sherpa/fleece blankets are softer, more colorful, and better for cozy gifts, guest rooms, and family-room use.

Can every lake become a blanket?

Not immediately. Lakes are prioritized by request volume, market fit, design clarity, artwork readiness, supplier fit, and sample approval. Some broad lakes may need submarket editions before a product is created.

Why does Lake Champlain need editions?

Lake Champlain is too large and geographically varied for one generic blanket to feel personal. The better structure is a regional page with editions such as Champlain Islands, Burlington Waterfront, Adirondack Shore, and Plattsburgh/North Country.

Personalization

Can I personalize a blanket?

Where the design allows it, personalization may include a family name, cabin or lake-house name, established year, town or cove, coordinates, closing date, or short gift message.

Are there limits on personalization?

Yes. Woven products need shorter text and larger type for legibility. Official-sounding association, club, marina, or organization names require permission from the rights holder.

Can you add a logo or official association name?

Only with explicit permission from the owner of that logo, mark, or organization name. Otherwise, LakeBlankets uses original lake artwork and independent wording.

Production And Shipping

Are blankets made to order?

Yes. LakeBlankets is a made-to-order product line. Production timing depends on product line, supplier, sample status, and fulfillment route.

When can a product be sold?

A product will not be sold publicly until the design, print file, supplier SKU, and sample status are approved. Preview pages may collect notifications or requests before sale.

How long does shipping take?

Shipping timing depends on the selected supplier and destination. Each product page will show the current production estimate and shipping range after its supplier route is confirmed.

Returns And Issues

Can personalized blankets be returned?

Personalized and made-to-order products are generally not returnable for buyer preference, but damaged, defective, or incorrectly produced items should be reviewed for replacement.

What if the blanket arrives damaged?

Contact support with the order number and photos of the issue so the order can be reviewed with the supplier.

Lake Requests

How do I request a lake?

Use the request-a-lake form with the lake name, state, nearby town or region, your relationship to the lake, and the product type you want.

What happens after I request a lake?

Requests are grouped by lake, state, and product interest. Lakes with strong interest and a clear design path can move into research, artwork, sample planning, and eventually product creation.
